What are you bringing to Cupcake '10?

[I get a little crazy-eyed when cupcakes are around. Be prepared.]

Cupcake '10 is LESS THAN A WEEKANDAHALF AWAY!

And that means MY BIRTHDAY is LESS THAN A WEEKANDAHALF AWAY!

(cough cough, didn't you know?)

Anyway....

Heather is currently moving to a new house. And we're all nursing holiday hangovers, I know.
But Cupcake '10 is almost here!!!

Aren't you getting a leeeetle excited? I am!!

I thought I'd let you all know what I plan on bringing (aside from birthdayself, my pillow, & Ivy)-

For the Saturday night potluck
Remember, lunch is on your own for Saturday, as we expect people to arrive after lunchtime. But we thought it would be super fun if we all bring our favorite potlucky dishes to share for dinner on Saturday. (There is a full kitchen at Stony Hill Farm, so things can be re-heated. Bringing crock pots, etc will probably be helpful, too.)

I think I'll bring a veggie pizza thing I love (it's a cold appetizery veggies&dip-type thing) and maybe this really yummy chipotle black bean chili. I'll make a huge pot.

I am thinking about ordering some of my favorite cupcakes (the strawberries & cream cupcake pictured above)
from the cupcake shop by us. If I can get them super fresh, I'll bring some of those, too!

Don't forget
Your camera (we'll make a flickr group to share all our awesome photos)
Your laptop (if you want to blog, there's supposed to be wifi!)
Your jammies
Your pillow (just in case-we might need to get creative with the sleeping arrangements- if we decide to sleep, that is.)

What else should we bring?
Leave a comment letting us know what you are thinking about bringing for the potluck and anything else I might have forgotten to add.

We'll be updating the Cupcake blog more often until the awesome cupcakey weekend. So stay tuned.

See you soon!

I'm bringing a 9x13 macaroni and cheese casserole. With BACON on top. But you'll probably have to fight Erin for the bacon.

Also: Wine. It's my thing. I bring wine. I might even share.

I'll bring a bunch of homemade hummus and refritos. With chips of course. :) Looking forward to seeing/meeting you all!

P.S. The name's Elizabeth, by the way. You don't all have to call me Boy Crazy. :P

The pizza sounds yummy Steph! I haven't decided yet, but I'm thinking I'll bring a fresh fruit tray.

Also, I'm bringing my new phone in hopes that someone can teach me how to use it! (It's a Droid and my first time using Internet on my phone)

Hmmmm....somehow I'm logged into my business account and now I have to do the opposite of Elizabeth and say my blog name is MamaBear :)

Ok I'm bringing WINE and ____. That's helpful right? How about wine and cheese and crackers! Yes, that's it.

Is there an itinerary for those of us who might be a tad on the anal side?

Squee! I get to meet Ivy in person and celebrate her Mama's birthday. (Mine is several days later, but my time away at Cupcake is my b'day present from my sweet hubby)

Not quite sure what I'll bring yet. Maybe a hot fruit "soup" that can be warmed in the crock pot.

This is all sounding so good, girls!!!

I'll be posting an itinerary of sorts soon. But I hope it's ok if we kinda go with the flow most of the time!

(we do have some things planned.)

I'll be bringing my sparkling wit and personality. Oh, you mean food? I'm thinking pasta salad and a bottle of premade margaritas!
And Sarah's right, first impressions be damned, y'all will have to fight me for the bacon.

Stephanie Wilson she/her @babysteph said...

I also wanted to add that there will be wine provided. If you want to bring your own, great! But don't feel you have to! :)

I was thinking about bringing a great big taco salad. With Doritos. Because it's my favorite and makes a ton.

And maybe some Oreo Truffles. Also because they are my favorite.

at this point ... not even sure if i'm bringing me ... feeling oh-so-stressed and frustrated and nesting-ish at this point ... not sure why i thought a 4 hour drive trip would be a good idea this close to baby.
has there been anyone that has inquired about wishing they could join, but couldn't? i'm thinking i'm most likely going to have to give up my attendee spot. let me know.

Stephanie Wilson she/her @babysteph said...

jen- there is a waiting list, but we'd love to have you if you are able to come!

Everyone, I'll post about this, too, but we wanted to point out that breakfast will be provided on Sunday morning, but lunch is on your own. :)

Steph and Heather, when I said itinerary I just meant what time things are starting on Saturday and Sunday for those of us that aren't spending the night.
Just have to line up the village to watch my kiddo. Babies are awesome, 9 year old boys who would be bored, HORRENDOUS!

Stephanie Wilson she/her @babysteph said...

Becky, oh gotcha! I AM going to be posting our itinerary tomorrow, but we are planning on arrivals to be 2-4pm (CST) on Saturday if that helps? And checkout time is 1-ish on Sunday.

I'll be sending lots of positive vibes. :-)

(I'd send some food with Allison or Heather, but I doubt you guys will be needy in that department.)

Apple pie. I will bring apple pie. I know it's no cupcake, but I love any dessert that will also give me a daily serving of fruit. Plus I have 5 pies in my freezer, so pie it is.

I am wonderfully excited to meet you all and eat your food. Also to put Tommy and Micah down on a blanket and let 'em at it. Rolling and scooting and drooling, O My.

Stephanie said...

I think I'll bring some homemade bread. My friends at church are always begging me to make bread. ;) I'll make 2 or 3 different loaves. Is there a microwave there? I have a yummy cake recipe that only takes 20 minutes in the microwave I could make as well.

Hyacynth said...

I probably will bring some vegetables and dip and fruit. :) And I'm going to hope that these two things help me keep my hands out of the oh-so-yummy bacon! lol. I need to get rid of this baby weight before my SIL's wedding!

I feel obligated to bring something hot since it just a short trip for me and others are coming from so far.

Thinking Hot Artichoke dip with Beer bread, Indian Pakora (my hubby's recipe) and my white sangria.

Anonymous said...

oh, and is there a grand total of how many attendees, so we know how much to make?

Heather of the EO said...

Tara,
There are currently 28 people. :)

Ann Imig said...

I will bring a lasagna. See you soon!

Hey chicas! So honored that you're all letting this west coast gal crash your cupcake soirée. What can I bring from LA that will last? Some California Clementines? Perhaps. And then I'll go to a local somewhere in Madison to bring whatever else.

Oh and I'm bringing my video camera for some informal interview chats I hope to have with whomever is willing! It's all part of my master plan to make this cupcake gathering a reality tv show.

:-)

Can't wait to meet you all!!

I'm bringing Baklava for dessert!

So excited to meet everyone!

I'm going to bring Buffalo Ranch Cream Cheese Cheddar Chicken dip. Guaranteed to cause an immediate heart attack. But at least we'll die going to taste bud heaven.

Looking forward to it! (meeting you all, not the heart attack thing) :O)

Becky said...

I'm changing it up! I'm going to make for you lovely ladies my famous Lemon Cookies. Much better than boring cheese and crackers. Hope that's ok!

Can't wait!

For sure pumpkin bread...and I will think of and add more too but for now that.

Esther Crawford said...

I keep trying to make a decision about what I'm bringing... maybe someone else can choose for me? Is there anything in particular folks would like that has not yet been suggested? If nothing else comes up I might bring bbq pulled chicken.

Heather of the EO said...

Pulled chicken sounds perfect to me. Go for it, lady :)

Ann Imig said...

P.S. on my "lasagna" above

I'm trying a new Pumpkin, Sage, Mushroom, Bacon (turkey bacon) lasagna recipe that is supposed to be amazing.

Well, as punishment to all you over-achieving Becky Homecky's...I will bring a jar of dill pickles and some katsup packs from McDonalds (but only if it is on the way and there is a drive through). :-) Or, I may bring tarragon chicken (picking a random page in a cook book). Um, is tarragon an herb or a nut? You will all have to wait and see. All this food is making Phillip (the name I have given my stomach) very hungry!
